A Montessori Environment for
Infants and Toddlers

Welcome to Snowdrop Montessori

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and caring environment for our children, their families, and our community. We specialized in providing a Montessori environment for children under the age of three.  During the first three years of life, a child’s brain absorbs more information from the environment than at any other part of their lifetime. Every sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell are absorbed and processed. It is an amazing, wondrous period in a tiny, complete human being’s life.

At Snowdrop Montessori, we have one toddler classroom, serving up to 13 toddlers and one infant classroom, serving up to 7 infants.

The Montessori Infant Environment (Birth to 15 Months of Age)

In our infant classroom, teachers gently guide the children in their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Our classroom is designed with space for infants to move their bodies, specially created developmental materials for developing fine and gross motor skills and concentration, language materials, and furniture the perfect size for their small bodies. The adults in the infant classroom spend one-on-one time with each child, talking with them, getting to know each one’s uniqueness, and providing learning experiences for them based on their needs and interests.

The Montessori Toddler Environment (15 Months to 33 Months of Age)

The Montessori Toddler environment provides a safe, calm, carefully designed setting for optimal learning that nurtures the physical and spiritual being. Sensory, cognitive, language, social, and cultural activities address the natural tendencies of the child’s developmental process. Even at this early stage, a child is soon able to make choices for their own independence.

 Authentic Montessori Classrooms

The Montessori Method emerges from the belief that children are naturally good, peaceful and curious and that in the context of a supportive environment, all children engage instinctively in the work of self-construction. With appropriate freedoms and the right support, children follow their interests to create rich learning experiences, form peaceful communities, and support and learn from one another. We are dedicated to the preparation of environments and ourselves to support the development of children.

An Intentionally Small Learning Community

Snowdrop Montessori is a two-classroom school, offering one toddler classroom, serving up to 13 toddlers and one infant classroom, serving up to 7 infants. As an intentionally small, community embedded learning environment, our school allows us to serve every child and family in deep and meaningful partnership with their teachers.
